All 1993-P ½ oz Proof Gold American Eagle coins in this listing earned a perfect PR70 grade from the PCGS. Perfect coins have their full, original mint luster and no detracting flaws. Deep-cameo coins have design sets that appear to float above the background field.

The Gold American Eagle coin was first unveiled with just a bullion and proof coin available. The bullion version of the coin started from year one with all four weights available; 1 oz, ½ oz, ¼ oz, and 1/10 oz Proof coins were first struck in just 1 oz.

The ½ oz Proof Gold American Eagle coin was first struck in 1987 by the United States Mint, and the other two fractional-weight coins were introduced in 1988. As of 2006, the program expanded again to include all four weights in a burnished version.

On the obverse face of the coin is the iconic image of Lady Liberty. Created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, it originally appeared on the $20 Gold Double Eagle and was in circulation through 1933. Many consider this the most beautiful coin design in American history.

The reverse features the image of a male bald eagle returning to its nest with an olive branch. Below, a female eagle guards the nest and its hatchlings. Miley Busiek created this image specifically for use on the Gold American Eagle coin.
