The U.S. Mint’s American Eagle Coin Program pays tribute to the work of Augustus Saint-Gaudens on the famed $20 gold piece known as the Double Eagle. Widely thought of as one of the most beautiful coins America ever produced, it was minted and circulated in international trade from 1907 to 1933 and has been highly regarded ever since. The modern American Eagle series of gold bullion coins features a partial rendition of his original design combined with the work of modern medallic artist Miley Busiek. The 1994-W 1/2 oz Proof Gold American Eagle Coin is now available for purchase from Silver.com.

The U.S. Mint celebrates one of the nation’s most iconic coins annually through the American Eagle Coin Program, and the 1994-W Proof Gold American Eagle Coin delivers its tribute in a proof finish with the coin’s full, original and blemish-free luster. One of the leading lights of the American Renaissance of the Beaux Arts era, Augustus Saint-Gaudens was widely famous as a sculptor of monuments and great works of public art. His Diana of the Tower was a long-time feature of the New York skyline, and several of his monuments to political figures and Civil War generals still stand today. When Theodore Roosevelt turned to him to help beautify America’s coinage, Saint-Gaudens delivered a high-relief design that was far ahead of its time and made an indelible mark on numismatics.

The Gold Eagle coin’s tribute to that coin features Saint-Gaudens’ classic image of Lady Liberty on its obverse side with flowing hair, an olive branch in her left hand, and a torch in her right. She’s accompanied by the inscriptions “LIBERTY” and “1994.”

The coin’s reverse side shows Miley Busiek’s bald eagle design: a male eagle flying back to the nest grasping an olive branch, and the nest below with a female eagle protecting her hatchlings. This is accompanied by the coin’s face value and the inscriptions “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST,” along with a “W” mint mark indicating the coin was struck at the West Point Mint.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
