The god Osiris is one of the oldest in Ancient Egypt. Said to have been a king himself at some point, Osiris is brought back to life by his wife, Isis, after being murdered and dismembered by his brother. Isis wrapped him up to his chest, holding his body parts together, as she performed a ceremony that brought him back to life on a temporary basis.

As a result of his temporary resurrection, Osiris became closely associated with the practice of mummification. He has long been viewed as the lord of the underworld and a god of fertility. The lush fields near the Nile River are said to have received the nutrients that enable its bounty as a result of the power of Osiris.

The obverse side of 2 oz Silver Antique Osiris Rounds comes with a depiction of the resurrection Osiris. In traditional Egyptian depictions, the resurrected Osiris features green skin. Here, he is wearing the Atef crown, with the crook and flail in his arms that are crossed in front of his chest. The official cartouche representative of him in Egyptian hieroglyphs is found on this side of the round as well.

On the reverse face of the 2 oz Silver Antique Osiris Round is an image of Osiris with his body now fully mummified. Isis was only able to temporarily revive him, a period long enough for the two to conceive a son together. That son was the god, Horus.

These 2 oz Silver Antique Osiris Rounds are available to purchase with Mint State 69 certifications. The MS69 grade indicates that the round showcases full, original mint luster with no more than two minor detracting flaws present. Those flaws must be located outside the primary focal points of the round and are limited in nature to details such as minuscule contact marks or hairlines.
