Each 2 oz Silver Hail the Silver Bug Round in this listing was designed and struck by the Intaglio Mint in honor of the Silverbug collector community. Silverbugs have a pronounced fondness for silver, and this new offering honors them and all other silver collectors in the industry.
Silverbugs already have a separate series of silver rounds produced in their honor. This collection features a new silver fairy design on the obverse of each round, but the reverse features the same scarab bug designed by Bogani for this stunning release. This scarab bug design is unlike any you’ve seen on other Silverbug-themed collectibles though.
On the obverse of the 2 oz Silver Hail the Silver Bug Round is the scarab bug in the center of the design field. Struck in ultra-high relief, the scarab bug is highlighted with a background radial burst that gives off the impression of a deep, concave space in the background field. It is surrounded by a stippled border that features engravings of “All Hail the Silverbug” and the Silverbug’s motto of “In Silver We Trust.”
The reverse of the Hail the Silver Bug Rounds features the mint logo for the Intaglio Mint. You’ll find engravings on this face layered in three concentric circles. In the very center is a Romanesque pillar in the shape of an “I” for Intaglio Mint, with the words “Est. 2010” engraved in the base and “Intaglio Mint” around the pillar.
In the middle layer of the design field you’ll find another stippled border with a radial sunburst of its own. The very outer layer of the design field includes the engravings of “Two Troy Ounces” above and “.999 Fine Silver Below,” with the sides of the field flanked by two lightning bolts.
Intaglio Mint is a private American minting facility opened in 2010 in Waco, Texas. Mark Bogani is more than just a designer there, he is also the CEO of the small minting operation.
