Commemorative gold coins might be a popular precious metal product among investors and numismatics today, but gold bars have existed for centuries as a means for hoarding national and personal wealth. One of the finest examples of gold-bar design today is the PAMP Suisse Fortuna bar. Today, Silver.com offers PAMP Suisse Gold Fortuna 20 Gram Bars with Veriscan technology to help authenticate your purchase.
Bar Highlights:
- Contains 20 grams of .9999 fine gold.
- Individual bars ship in sealed plastic with an Assay card, and multiples of 25 ship in boxes.
- PAMP Suisse’s exclusive Veriscan technology effectively identifies any registered bullion product and aids in the detection of counterfeits.
- Obverse: Design of Fortuna, the Roman goddess of fortune and luck.
- Reverse: Weight and purity, along with an individualized serial number.
Veriscan is proprietary technology belonging to PAMP Suisse. The system scans the microscopic surface of bars once they have been minted by PAMP. Each bar has an individual identity courtesy of that scan that is cataloged and associated with a QR code included on the assay card of each Gold Fortuna 20 Gram Bar. All you need to do to authenticate your bar is scan the code with PAMP Suisse.
Fortuna was a Roman goddess associated with fortune, luck, chance, and virtue. In an ancient Roman manuscript, she was depicted governing the circle containing the four stages of life, known as the Wheel of Fortune. Symbols often associated with Fortuna include a globe, cornucopia, wheel, and wreath.
Three of those symbols are visible on the obverse side of the PAMP Suisse Gold Fortuna 20 Gram Bar. Fortuna, featured wearing a blindfold, is depicted in front of a wheel, with a wreath above her blindfold, and a cornucopia attached to her head. The cornucopia winds down to her hands, where clasped fingers catch the bounty of riches flowing out.
On the reverse side of the bar is the PAMP Suisse corporate logo, followed by inscriptions for the weight, metal content, and purity of the gold bar. Below those engravings, the assayer’s mark and individual serial number offer authentication of the bar’s identity and value. Each PAMP Suisse Gold Fortuna Bar is minted using .9999 fine gold.
PAMP Suisse was founded in Ticino, Switzerland in 1977. Today it is part of the global MKS Group. Based in Geneva, Switzerland, MKS Group is an international precious metal and financial services firm.
