There are many choices awaiting investors buying precious metals. Whether you’re a seasoned investor or just starting out, you will find a myriad of options awaiting you in the form of coins, bars, rounds, and foils in metals ranging from gold and silver to platinum and palladium. Platinum is one of the rarer metals in the Earth’s crust and is widely used across a variety of industries, making it a solid investment option. Right now, 20 Gram Platinum Argor-Heraeus Bars are available to purchase online at Silver.com.

Bar Highlights:

  • Ships to you inside of tamper-evident blistercards!
  • Comes with an assay!
  • Consists of 20 Grams, or .6430 Troy ounces, of .9995 fine platinum.
  • The obverse depicts the mint logo.
  • On the reverse are the initials of the mint.

Each 20 Gram Platinum Argor-Heraeus Bar available to you in this Silver.com listing arrives in brand-new condition from the mint. After these minted ingots are struck at the mint, each one is individually packaged inside of a tamper-evident blistercard. The design of these blistercards includes both a capsule space to house and protect the bar and an assay card to authenticate the piece. The assay features the matching weight, purity, and metal content of the item, as well as the signature of a certified assayer.

Due to the scarcity of platinum within the Earth’s crust, there are only a few hundred tonnes of platinum mined and produced on an annual basis. Most of this production takes place in South Africa, which accounts for 80% of the global supply of platinum each year. The scarcity of platinum, combined with its highly valuable use across a variety of industries, makes it a valuable asset in the investment community.

The obverse of 20 Gram Platinum Bars from Argor-Heraeus features a depiction of the mint logo. The full mint logo includes both the initials of the mint at the center of the logo, which have been stylized with curved edges to fill the central circle, and the full name of the mint in a ring surrounding this. Other inscriptions on this side include the nation of production, weight, metal content, and purity of the bar. An assayer’s stamp is also found on this side.

On the reverse of 20 Gram Platinum Argor-Heraeus Bars, there is a repeating design. All of the bars in the Classic Series of platinum minted ingots from Argor feature this same design element. However, the larger the bar, the more individual replications of the small mint logo you will find on this side. For example, the 1 Gram bar in this series has just one depiction of the initials logo. These 20 Gram bars have as many as 24 individual replicas of the AH initials design set at an angle across the face of the bar.
