Silver Canadian Maple Leaf coins rose in mintage for the second year in a row, which would prove to be the second of ten years of increasing mintage that hit a high in 2011 during the Great Recession and sky-high silver prices. As for the price of silver in 2003, the average throughout the year was up from 2002 to $4.88 per ounce. The high mark for silver in the year was nearly $6.00 per ounce, a high for recent years.

The mintage of 684,750 coins for the 2003 1 oz Silver Canadian Maple Leaf Coins was almost double the issue of just two years earlier, and up more than 100,000 coins from 2002. Production of the coins would continue to show strength over the next decade.

For the 2003 1 oz Silver Maple Leaf, a new effigy of Queen Elizabeth II began to appear on Canadian coins. The right-profile portrait from Susanna Blunt debuted in 2003 as a replacement for the third-generation effigy created by Dora de Pedery-Hunt. Blunt’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is just the second by a Canadian artist.

On the reverse of the Silver Canadian Maple Leaf is the design of the sugar maple leaf. It is featured in the center along with engravings of the nation of issue, purity, weight, and metal content of the coin. This was designed in 1979 by Walter Ott.

The obverse of all 2003 1 oz Silver Canadian Maple Leaf Coin bears the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is featured on this coin in a manner not seen on Canadian coins since her father, George VI’s portrait from 1937 to 1952. George VI, and now Elizabeth II, are shown without a crown on their head.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
