The Gold Eagle Coin series has remained a top seller among bullion investors and collectors from around the world. The imagery that’s always featured in this collection helps represent the patriotic traditions and values of the United States. Now, the collection is back again with this new release for 2003. Currently, the 2003-W 1/4 oz Proof Gold American Eagle Coin can be bought online from Silver.com.

Coin Highlights:

  • The coin is packaged in a plastic capsule inside a presentation box!
  • Certificate of Authenticity is included!
  • Limited mintage of only 30,292 available!
  • Contains One Fourth Troy ounces of actual gold content.
  • This coin is backed by the government of the United States and bears a face value of Ten Dollars (USD).
  • The obverse shows the image of Lady Liberty.
  • On the reverse is a family of eagles.

The 2003-W 1/4 oz Proof Gold American Eagle Coin was struck in 22 karats of actual gold by the West Point Mint, which is indicated by the “W” mint marking included on one side of the coin. This coin was actually produced with a perfect metal balance of 91.67% gold, 5.33% copper, and 3% silver. It also comes with a special proof finish, meaning that the designs featured on the coin are frosted while the backgrounds remain mirrored. This type of finish gives the viewer great visual contrast to enjoy.

Coin releases in the Gold Eagle Coin collection began in 1986 with the original 1 oz coin. Fractional weights in the collection weren’t produced until 1987 and were made at the Philadelphia location of the United States Mint. After the year 1993, however, all weights in this series—including fractional weight amounts—were transferred to the West Point Mint for production, allowing for all coins in this series to be struck in the same location.

The image of Lady Liberty, created by artist Augustus Saint-Gaudens and taken from his original Double-Eagle design, is included on the obverse of the 2003-W 1/4 oz Proof Gold American Eagle Coin. This continues to be the featured obverse image for this series and has been used since the collection was first released. In the image, Lady Liberty walks forward with both arms outstretched. In one hand, she holds a torch, while the other holds onto an olive branch.

The image of an eagle family, designed by artist Miley Busiek, is included on the reverse of the 2003-W 1/4 oz Proof Gold American Eagle Coin. In the image, a male eagle is shown flying overhead and carrying an olive branch toward a nest. The female eagle and eaglets sit within the nest waiting for the male to land.

We also never have access to your credit/debit card details, as they are securely communicated directly to the payment processor (Authorize.net) and never retained by Silver.com. For this reason, we also don't process credit/debit card orders over the phone, as it is the least secure way to process those transactions.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
