Gold American Eagles are offered each year as BU, Proof, and Burnished coins. The series has offered BU coins every year, but the Proof Gold Eagle is missing one date in the series. Prior to that 2009 hiatus, the Proof Gold Eagle enjoyed relatively stable mintages throughout the 2000s. Today, 2004-W 1/10 oz Proof Gold American Eagles are available to you online at Silver.com in perfect condition.

Proof Gold Eagles were introduced in 1986 alongside the Brilliant Uncirculated coins, but were only available in 1 oz gold that first year. In 1987, the 1/2 oz gold coin was introduced in the series. In 1988, the 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz gold coins were finally introduced. From 1988 to 2007, the 1/10 oz Proof Gold Eagle stood at the top of the mountain as the highest-minted coin in the series.
All of the 2004-W 1/10 oz Proof Gold American Eagle Coins are available to you for purchase in perfect condition. PR70 coins have full, original mint luster with no detractions present on the fields or design elements. The DCAM designation means these specimens are deep-cameo proofs with strong, frosted designs or deeply-mirrored, clear fields.
On the obverse of 2004-W Proof Gold American Eagles is Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ historic depiction of Lady Liberty. Designed in 1907, this effigy shows Liberty’s full-length figure with a torch in her right hand, an olive branch in her left hand, and sun rays framing her figure from behind. There is also a ring of 50 stars around the field of the coin.
The reverse side of the 2004-W 1/10 oz Proof Gold Eagles comes with an image of the American bald eagle. In this case, several bald eagles are featured here with small hatchlings in the nest, a female eagle guarding the hatchlings, and a male eagle soaring over the nest.
