In the decade 2000-2009, the Gold Austrian Philharmonic struggled to gain traction with investors. Following the end of the Y2K crisis in 2000, demand for the coins immediately sank and remained below 150,000 coins on average each year from 2001 to 2007. Now, 2006 1 oz Gold Austrian Philharmonic Coins are available to you for purchase online at Silver.com.

Coin Highlights:

  • Coins ship to you inside protective flips!
  • 18th year of availability in the 1 oz Gold Philharmonic Series!
  • Mintage limited to 82,174 coins only!
  • Consists of One Troy ounce of .9999 fine gold.
  • Issued a face value of 100 Euros by Austria.
  • The obverse features the Great Pipe Organ in the Musikverein.
  • On the reverse is a collection of musical instruments.

In 2000, a new decade, century, and millennium started with an increase in demand for the Gold Austrian Philharmonic. The 2000 release had a 15,000-coin increase year-over-year compared to the previous issue. This, however, was the last time the coins would exceed 200,000 coins.

The 2001 release of the coins was the lowest in program history. This year experienced a drop of nearly 200,000 coins to finish at just 54,700 in total. These 2006 coins have the second-lowest mintage in program history at just 82,174 coins in total.

The obverse side of 2006 1 oz Gold Philharmonics has a depiction of a pipe organ. This magnificent instrument is a rendition of the actual organ found in at Weiner Musikverein, which is home to the Vienna Philharmonic orchestra.

On the reverse field of the 2006 Gold Austrian Philharmonic, you will find a collection of musical instruments, featuring the cello, four violins, bassoon, harp, and Vienna horn. Both the obverse and reverse designs come from Thomas Pesendorfer, the Chief Engraver of the Austrian Mint.

These 2006 1 oz Gold Austrian Philharmonics are available with plastic flips and boast the second-lowest mintage in the program’s history.

We also never have access to your credit/debit card details, as they are securely communicated directly to the payment processor (Authorize.net) and never retained by Silver.com. Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
