  • Minted by the United States Mint
  • Carries a $1 face value backed by the US government.
  • Individual coins ship in plastic sleeves, multiples of 20 ship in mint-sealed tubes and multiples of 500 ship in monster boxes.

The artwork featured on the coin’s obverse was created by artist Adolph Weinman. It is known as his “Walking Liberty” design. As the name suggests, the image depicts Lady Liberty crossing an open field to greet the morning sun. She wears a traditional Greek toga, decorated with the stars and stripes of our nation’s flag. With one arm, she holds a pile of oak and laurel branches, while the other one is extended before her, representing an invitation. This portrayal of Lady Liberty reflects the generosity with which our country shares its abundant resources and vast opportunities.

Serving as the primary focal point of the reverse side is the Great Seal of the United States. This iconic emblem depicts the bald eagle with its wings outstretched behind an oversized shield. In its beak, it holds a banner bearing the phrase, “E Pluribus Unum.” Its talons, in comparison, carry an olive branch and a bundle of arrows to symbolize not only the peace we strive to achieve within our nation, but also the measures we must take to maintain and protect it. Hovering above the eagle is triangle formation of thirteen stars to commemorate the original thirteen colonies. Lastly, printed along the edge of the coin is our nation’s name accompanied by the coin’s weight and denomination.

With its poignant imagery and patriotic motif, the 2007 Silver American Eagle Coin speaks to the pride and spirit of American culture.
