The first gold bullion coin from the United States Mint to offer 24-karat gold content was the Gold American Buffalo. Introduced in 2006, the Gold Buffalo was like the coins of the American Eagle Series in that it used a historic coin design from the United States Mint for its imagery. Unlike the other coins, it only dabbled in the production of fractional ounces just one time. Now, perfect condition 2008 1/10 oz Burnished Gold American Buffalos are available to you for purchase online at Silver.com.

Gold American Buffalos were introduced in 2006 by the US Mint. In a busy year that included 20th-anniversary strikes for the Gold Eagle and Silver Eagle, as well as a new burnished option in both series, the mint also rolled out its first-ever 24-karat gold coin.
While Gold American Eagle coins have long been offered in four weights of 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz, but the Gold American Buffalo was introduced without fractional ounces. In 2008, the US Mint opted to introduce 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz gold coins in a one-time release of Burnished Gold American Buffalos.
The obverse side of 2008 1/10 oz Burnished Gold American Buffalos features a right-profile design with the face of an indigenous tribal figure. This stoic individual is shown with long, braided hair that has feathers woven in at the back.
