The 2011 issue year for Proof Gold Eagles was a strange one. The US Mint opted to increase the maximum mintage caps on all four individual coins, as well as the 4-Coin Proof Gold Eagle Set, but collector demand was not nearly as high as recent years. While the 1 oz gold and 1/10 oz coins remained strong, all coins were down. The 2011 1 oz Proof Gold American Eagle Coin is currently available to you for purchase online at Silver.com in perfect condition.

The United States Mint increased the mintage caps on each of the individual coins issued in 2011 in the Proof Gold Eagle range. The 1 oz coin had the highest mintage cap at 30,000 coins for individual sale, with an additional 40,000 coins available in the four-coin set issued in 2011. The 1/10 oz coin had an equal individual mintage of 30,000 coins, with the other fractional weights set at roughly half that amount.
In 2011, the demand for Proof Gold Eagles was significantly lower on the whole. While the 1 oz Proof Gold Eagle was down some 11,100 coins from the previous year, the 1/2 oz and 1/4 oz coins dropped by 18,000 and 14,000 coins respectively. The 1 oz coin did manage to sell out its entire 30,000 coin individual mintage.
