Great Basin national Park covers a modest 77,180 acres of land in White Pine County, Nevada. The region is located in east-central Nevada near the border with Utah, and is characterized by the dry, mountainous environment that dominates the area between the Sierra Nevada range in the west and the Wasatch Mountains in the east.
America the Beautiful coins are struck in groups of five each year by the United States Mint. The coins feature images representing moments, monuments, and other key places from American history. The coin series started in 2010 and will end in 2021, eventually representing all 50 states, five territories, and Washington DC.
On the obverse side of the coin is the image of one of Great Basin’s famous Bristlecone pines, situated atop the common rocky terrain that dominates the area. The reverse features the image of President George Washington, which was refined for use on American quarters in 1932 by John Flanagan.
Each of these coins is struck by the United States Mint, and has been graded a near-perfect MS69 by the PCGS. These coins have their full, original luster, and no more than two detracting marks, flaws, or blemishes.
