  • Arrives in plastic slabs from PCGS!
  • Graded a perfect PR70 with DCAM designation!
  • Contains One-Quarter ounce actual gold weight
  • Made of 22-karat gold!
  • Gold Double Eagle design on the obverse.
  • Bald eagle family on the reverse.

We ship these coins directly from our secure facility to your door in a plastic slab from the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). The coins were each graded a perfect PR70, which means that they will be fully struck and free of visual marks. PCGS does allow for some very minor flaws, but they can only be “as minted” defects that don’t detract from the visual appeal of the coins.

The Deep Cameo, or DCAM, designation these coins have been given signifies that the devices of the coin are heavily frosted, and the background has a deep mirror finish. This provides a stark contrast between the two surfaces.

To get this finish, these coins are struck using polished dies and extremely high levels of pressure. With this process, the coins will have sharper rims and designs, as well as a higher contrast between the design sets and backgrounds.

On the obverse of each 2013-W 1/4 oz Proof Gold American Eagle Coin is Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ famous Gold Double Eagle design. The image features Lady Liberty striding forward with the sun at her back. She carries a flaming torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other. The famous image was originally created in 1907 to be used on the Gold Double Eagle Coins.

The reverse image was created by sculptor Miley Busiek in 1986 specifically to be used on Gold American Eagle Coins. Busiek’s image features a large male bald eagle with an olive branch in its talons returning to a nest where his mate and hatchling await him.

The United States Mint released the first American Gold Eagle Coins back in 1986. These coins are released in three versions annually: bullion, uncirculated, and proof. The US Mint also offers silver, platinum, and palladium American Eagle Coins. Each metal type coins with different, but related, designs.
