When the 2013-W Proof Silver American Eagle coin went on sale in January of that year, the United States Mint had no stated maximum mintage and no household restrictions on the number of coins available in a single purchase. This was one of the few times the US Mint had lifted these restrictions in recent years.

For 2013, the US Mint struck an impressively high number of proof coins at 934,331, which is one of the five highest mintage figures of all time for the proof. In addition to individual sales, the US Mint was featuring the Proof Silver American Eagle in two different collector’s sets for 2013.

First, there was the 2013 Congratulations Set that featured a special celebration-themed packaging for those giving the proof coin as a gift. The latter, the 2013 Limited Edition Silver Proof Set, included a maximum of 50,000 sets featuring the 2013-W Proof Silver American Eagle, and proof versions of the 90% silver dime, quarter, and half-dollar coins.

Each 2013-W Proof Silver American Eagle available in this listing is a PR70 specimen from the PCGS.
