The brand new 2014 1 oz Silver American Eagle coin is available in Brilliant Uncirculated condition at Silver.com. Each coin is composed of a full troy ounce of silver which is .999 or 99.9% pure. At the US Mint, Silver Eagles are placed into plastic rolls of 20 coins which are then placed inside what is called a Monster Box and sealed shut. Monster Boxes contain a total of 25 rolls of 20 (500 coins total). As we only receive sealed monster boxes, all of our 2014 coins remain in their mint state, and are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
The design located on the Silver American Eagle coin is the same as years past, and in fact has remained unchanged since 1986. The obverse of the coin features a depiction of Lady Liberty; a figure which has remained prevalent on American coinage for hundreds of years. She is looked at as a personification of the United States’ beliefs of liberty, freedom and justice.
In this rendition, Lady Liberty is standing aside a sea of water in which the sun is rising over. She is holding one hand outward in a welcoming gesture while her left hand holds a bundle of branches. The word “Liberty” is spelled out across the top of the coin while the phrase “In God We Trust” is inscribed to the side of the Lady. Also stamped onto each coin is its mintage year.
The design located on the reverse side of the coin features an American Heraldic Eagle which is holding in its talons a bundle of olive branches as well as several arrows. These two symbols serve as a reference to our nations duty of maintaining the peace and also protecting it if need be. In front of the eagle is a shield while in its beak is a banner which reads “E Pluribus Unum.”
Atop the eagle are 13 stars arranged in a pyramid pattern with the nation’s name; “United States Of America” circling above. Also marked on the reverse side are the coins weight of “1 oz.”, the metal content and type; “Fine Silver” and the coins face value of “One Dollar.”
