Germany’s BH Mayer Mint produces the Silver Rwandan Impala coin for the government of Rwanda as part of the larger Rwandan Wildlife Series. The silver bullion coins celebrate members of the animal kingdom commonly found on the African continent, as well as within the borders of the country.
The 2014 1 oz Silver Rwandan Impala Coins available to you today are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Coins with a BU grade are characterized by a lack of wear and tear on the surface area, though you may see breaks in the luster, contact marks, or spotted surfaces.
On the obverse face of each coin you’ll find the image of a pair of Rwandan Impalas running across the open plains, located in the lower-left corner of the design field. The center of the coin is dominated by the rugged outline of the African continent. Engravings on this face identify the weight, year of issue, metal content, and purity of the coin.
The reverse face features the official seal of the government of Rwanda. The seal is located in the center of the design, with engravings around the outer edge inscribed in the local Zulu dialect. These engravings identify, in part, the Central Bank of Rwanda and the nation’s motto.
