Each of the 2014-P $1 Silver Baseball Hall of Fame Coins available to you here today comes with a near-perfect grade from the Professional Coin Grading Service. A coin with a PR69 grade exhibits full, original mint luster and has no more than two minor detracting flaws. Acceptable flaws at this grade level are limited to minuscule contact marks or hairlines and must be located outside of the primary focal points of the coin.
In addition to the near-perfect grade, these proof coins also have a DCAM designation. This means deep-cameo and refers to the contrast created by the strong, frosted designs overlaying the deeply-mirrored, clear background fields.
On the obverse of each 2014-P $1 Silver Baseball Hall of Fame Coin is the image of a baseball glove, complete with all the seams and stitches visible that hold it together. To create a true sense of a catching glove, this face of the coin is a sunken, concave field.
The reverse side of 2014-P $1 Silver Baseball Hall of Fame Coins includes a depiction of a baseball. Not to be outdone by the concave obverse, this side of the coin is convex with a domed surface that perfectly recreates the visual of a baseball’s curve.
The 2014 Baseball Hall of Fame coins from the United States Mint were sold with applicable premiums. The original additional premium over the spot price charged for the coins was donated to the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
