Whether you love coins related to American history, collect Kennedy memorabilia or just really enjoy looking at the differences minor minting styles make, we’ve got a set of coins for you. The 2014 Silver US Mint Proof 50th Anniversary Kennedy Half Dollar 4-Coin Set Box commemorates an important circulated coin in American numismatic history while providing an interesting conversation piece for your display case.

  • Coins arrive in protective plastic capsules and come with a portfolio display and Certificate of Authenticity!
  • 2014 mintages from four US mints!
  • Limited availability!
  • Consists of 1.76 Troy oz total of .900 fine silver.
  • Face value of each coin is $0.50 and is backed by US federal government.
  • Obverse image depicts John F. Kennedy using the 1964 half dollar portrait.
  • Reverse image depicts Presidential seal with heraldic eagle and other symbols.

The obverse of each coin includes the 1964 portrait of John F. Kennedy. This left-facing effigy was created by Gilroy Roberts for use on the 1964 half dollar coins that were issued the year after the Kennedy assassination. The same image is being used on the 50th Anniversary coins. The profile used to make this image was created based on one that was to be used on Kennedy’s presidential medal.

On the reverse of each coin is a depiction of the Presidential seal that was created by Frank Gasparro. The seal includes the ever-important heraldic eagle and the symbolic elements of both arrows and the olive branch. A shield is placed over the eagle’s chest, and the message of the symbol is one of might, right, and justice. One of the unique elements of this particular design is that the eagle is surrounded by 50 stars. At the time this coin was created, that was the most stars on a design used on circulated coins.

This set includes four coins from different mints. All have the same design, but they have different finishes, creating fun visual differences to enjoy. You get a reverse proof coin, proof coin, enhanced uncirculated coin, and uncirculated coin from the West Point, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Denver Mints (in that order).

The coins come in protective plastic capsules that fit inside the display folio, so you can keep them in great condition whether you’re storing or showing them. The folio folds up to provide additional protection or folds out for a lovely display, and you receive a Certificate of Authentication for your set.
