Another year, another record for the Silver American Eagle coins series. After breaking record after record in recent years, it was becoming commonplace for the Silver American Eagle series to outshine itself and for the bullion coins, in particular, to break sales records. The Proof Silver American Eagle contributed heavily to the records as well, experiencing its own high level of demand. The 2014-W Proof Silver American Eagle is available now from Silver.com with a perfect grade.

2014-W Proof Silver American Eagle coins went on sale January 23, 2014 and enjoyed an immediate boost over previous years. Much of this boost was attributed to the 10% discount offer on the proof coins for those purchasing through the US Mint’s Online Subscription Program, which lowered the price of each 2014 coin to $46.75 from $52.95.
The United States Mint again suspended a mintage cap for the Proof Silver American Eagle coin in 2014, and also opted against a household ordering limit. The proof coin was available in just one special set this year, unlike previous releases dating back to 2011. The 2014 Congratulations Set was aimed at those purchasing 2014 Proof Silver American Eagles to give as gifts.
All 2014-W Proof Silver American Eagle coins in this listing have perfect grades from the PCGS. A PR70 coin has its full, original luster from the mint and lacks any detracting flaws on the surfaces of the coin.
The DCAM designation refers to the finish of the proof coin. The design set has a strong, frosted finish that contrasts beautifully with the deeply-mirrored, clear background field. Combining these design traits gives the Walking Liberty image the appearance of floating above the coin’s surface.
