The nation of Armenia has an attachment to Christianity that is as strong as that of the Holy Land or Vatican City. Noah’s Ark came to rest atop Mount Ararat, which until the 20th century was located within the national borders of Armenia. Additionally, Christianity has been the official religion of Armenia for over a thousand years, making it the first nation to adopt the religion officially on a national basis.
On the obverse side of each coin is the image of the coat of arms for Armenia. The coin’s face value, weight, metal content, and purity are engraved on this side, along the phrase “Republic of Armenia” in both English and Armenian.
The reverse side bears the image of Noah’s Ark as it floats atop the flood waters. In the foreground, a dove flies into view with an olive branch in its clutches. In the distant background, the sun peeks over the top of Mount Ararat.
Each of the Silver Armenian Noah’s Arks available to you through this product listing is in MS69 condition. This grade indicates a coin with its full, original luster, and no more than two detracting flaws visible outside the coin’s primary focal areas.
These coins are produced on behalf of the Armenian government at Germany’s Geiger Edelmetalle Mint in Leipzig. All coins produced at the mint are considered legal tender in Armenia.
