These 2015 5 oz Blue Ridge Parkway ATB Silver Coins represent the state of North Carolina, and the 469 miles All-American Road that connects the state to its neighbor in Virginia. The road is the longest linear park in the US National Park system, and connects the two states through the Blue Ridge Mountain chain in the Appalachian Mountains.
Each coin in this product listing earned a grade of MS69 from the PCGS. These are considered near-perfect coins, with their full, original luster and no more than two minor detracting flaws. The deeply-mirrored, proof-like finish gives these bullion coins a unique appearance not commonly found on similar products.
On the reverse face is the image of the Blue Ridge Parkway as it opens up from one mountain tunnel and heads into another. Engravings represent the state of issue, the representative park, and the national motto of “E Pluribus Unum.”
The obverse side bears the left-profile portrait of President George Washington found on circulation 25-cent pieces in the US. The image was refined in 1932 by John Flanagan, and based upon a 1786 sculpture of the nation’s first president done by William Cousins.
