In 2016, the United States Mint released a three-coin series of gold coins for sale to honor the centennial of some of the most beautiful coin designs in American history. As the 20th century dawned, the United States was stepping into a new role on the international stage and President Theodore Roosevelt wanted American coinage to better reflect the nation’s growing status. What started in 1905 arguably culminated in 1916 with the redesign of the dime, quarter, and half dollar. Right now, 2016-W 1/2 oz Gold American Walking Liberty Half Dollars in perfect condition are available to purchase online from Silver.com.

The 2016 Gold American Centennial Series featured 24-karat gold coins honoring the 1916 Mercury Dime, 1916 Standing Liberty Quarter, and the 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar. Each coin was struck on a 24-karat gold blank representative of the original denomination of the silver version of the coins. For example, the Mercury Dime was struck on a 1/10 oz gold blank. For the Walking Liberty Half Dollar, the US Mint used a 1/2 oz gold blank.

The obverse of 2016 1/2 oz Gold Walking Liberty Half Dollar features Adolph A. Weinman’s exquisite design of Liberty. Known as Walking Liberty, her full-length figure is set in left-profile relief as she walks toward the sun on the horizon carrying branches of oak and laurel while draped in the American flag.

On the reverse of the 2016-W Gold American Walking Liberty Half Dollar is a depiction of the American bald eagle. Here, the powerful aerial predator is shown on a rock ledge with raised wings and a small sapling in its talons.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
