The British Queens Beast Coin program is a planned 10-design series that features new designs for each of the animals featured in the coronation ceremony of Queen Elizabeth II. In total, the British Queens Beast coin series features a 1 oz gold coin, this 2016 1/4 oz Gold British Queens Beast Coin, and the Royal Mint’s first-ever 2 oz silver bullion coin.

Jody Clark became the youngest Royal Mint engraver to ever create a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II when he unveiled the latest design of the monarch for United Kingdom coinage. His 2015 design replaces that of Ian Rank-Broadley, which has been in use since 1998.

On the reverse side of each 2016 1/4 oz Gold British Queens Beast Coin you’ll find the image of an imposing lion standing on its hind legs, with one paw clutching the coat of arms of the Royal Family and the other paw poised to strike at the nation’s enemies.

The obverse of all Gold British Queens Beast coins features the all-new right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty’s portrait has been updated three times now since her coronation in 1953. The latest, introduced in 2015, comes from Royal Mint engraver Jody Clark, who created the images on both sides of this coin.

Each of the Queen’s Beast Lion coins available in this listing has a near-perfect grade of MS69 from the NGC. Coins in this condition exhibit full, original mint luster, but also feature a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. These flaws are limited to miniscule hairlines and/or contact marks found only outside the primary focal areas of the coin’s surface.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
