On the obverse of each Silver Somalian Elephant coin is the latest elephant design. It features a single elephant in the middle of the Serengeti, with a small patch of grass in the foreground and a hut, with palm tree, in the background. Engravings include “African Wildlife,” “Elephant,” and the coin’s weight, purity, and metal content.
The reverse of the 2017 1/10 oz Silver Somalian Elephant Coin bears the Somali coat of arms. It is included along with the engravings of “Somali Republic” above, the year of issue “2017” split on either side of the heraldic shield, and the face value of “10 Shillings” at the bottom.
