KOMSCO made its first foray into collectible silver bullion in 2016 with the debut of its Chiwoo Cheonwang Series. The collection has unique values assigned and comes with a new reverse design in the series each year. Already available in 1 oz silver and gold, the collection got a new option with the 1/2 oz 2017-dated coin’s recent release. Right now, 2017 1/2 oz Silver South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang coins are available to purchase online at Silver.com.

Coin Highlights:

  • Ships to you inside of protective plastic or tubes of 25!
  • First issue of the 1/2 oz Silver Chiwoo Cheonwang!
  • Mintage limited to 10,000 coins only!
  • Consists of One Troy ounce of .999 fine silver in BU condition.
  • Bears a value of 1/2 Clay.
  • The obverse side features the common design of Do ggae bi.
  • On the reverse is a new design of Chiwoo Cheonwang wearing battle armor and riding his warhorse.

The Silver Chiwoo Cheonwang Series from KOMSCO bears a new design on the reverse side each year. The first issue in the collection had a design of Chiwoo Cheonwang standing on the field of battle with a spear in his hand and his shield at his side. The 2017 design includes Chiwoo in the same battle armor and weaponry, but this time he is mounted on horseback.

2017 1/2 oz Silver Chiwoo Cheonwang coins are a new issue in the collection and mark the first-ever fractional-weight coin in the collection. KOMSCO has a very low mintage figure for these fractional weights and offers all of the same beauty through the design as its 1 oz counterparts.

On the obverse side of all Silver Chiwoo Cheonwang coins is an image of Do ggae bi. This figure dates back to the 7th century and the Silla Dynasty, known in Korean as Gwi-myeon-wa. The figure’s face was often used on a roof tile in the center of the design. The image of Do ggae bi has been popular on Korean homes for centuries because of the belief his face can ward off evil spirits.

The reverse of all 2017 1/2 oz Silver Chiwoo Cheonwang coins includes the latest design of the God of War. Korean society believes that Chiwoo was the head of state of Shinshi, the first ancient state of Korea. Chiwoo’s depiction is set to change each year on this side of the coins, with the 2017 similar to the design of 2016. The primary difference is Chiwoo now mounted on horseback.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
