For the first release of the Queen’s Beast Collection of coins in 2016, the Royal Mint chose the most significant mythical creature from the nation’s heraldry. The 2017 1 Kilo Proof Silver British Queen’s Beast Lion Coin is available to you online today at Silver.com.

Over the course of a two-year period from early 2015 to early 2017, Queen Elizabeth II of England shattered a number of records for reigning monarchs. She not only surpassed her great-great-grandmother as Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, she became the longest-reigning female monarch in world history and the first British monarch to reach her sapphire jubilee (65 years).

To mark the occasion of her long reign in Britain, the Royal Mint unveiled plans for a 10-coin series of gold and silver bullion coins to commemorate her 1953 coronation ceremony inside of Westminster Abbey. Present during the ceremony were 10 statues of mythical beasts that played a role over thousands of years of British history in the monarchy and heraldry.

The first and most important of these releases is the Lion of England. Captured on the nation’s coat of arms in a column of three, the lion is so prominent that national football and cricket teams are often known simply as the “Three Lions” when discussed on television and public radio.

On the reverse of the 2017 1 Kilo Proof Silver British Queen’s Beast Lion Coin you’ll see Jody Clark’s design of the Lion of England for the Queen’s Beast collection. It depicts the lion on its hind legs standing behind the heraldic shield of the nation.

The obverse of all Proof Silver British Queen’s Beast Lion Coins bears Clark’s fifth-generation portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. As is traditionally done, the portrait captures Her Majesty in right-profile relief. It was created in 2015 and replaces Ian Rank-Broadley’s 1998 depiction.

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
