As the first country in the world to adopt Christianity as the official religion of the country, it is no surprise that the country’s bullion coin series depicts a popular scene from the Christian bible. Noah’s Ark is a popular story from the book of Genesis in which Noah survives a 40 day flood on an ark filled with animals. At the end of the 40 days, the ark comes to rest on Mount Ararat.
On the reverse of each coin, you will see a grand depiction of the ark during the long flood. The ark is sailing over the flooded waters as they start to recede. The sun can be seen rising in the distance, symbolizing that the flood is coming to an end. In the foreground, a dove flies near the boat with an olive branch in its beak.
The obverse of each 2017 10 oz Silver Armenian Noah’s Ark Coin bears the image of the Armenian Coat of Arms. The coat of arms consists of a heraldic shield. On the shield, you can see a small depiction of the ark sitting on Mount Ararat. On either side of the shield are an eagle and a lion.
All of the coins in this listing are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. These coins will have no signs of wear and tear, but they may have minor flaws, including breaks in the luster, spotted surfaces and contact marks made by the coining process. These coins were all produced at Geiger Edelmetalle in Germany.
