The Canis lupus is a species of wolf that comes with many subspecies, but chief among them are the gray wolf of North America and Eurasia, as well as the red wolf of the southeastern United States. The gray wolf is native to the wilderness areas and remote reaches of Eurasia and North America, particularly Canada’s remote forests and mountain ranges.
As the Predator Series continues from the Royal Canadian Mint, the cougar and lynx give way to the design of the Silver Wolf Coin. Created by Nathalie Legace, this design is a bullion finish with a brilliant, frosted relief on the design elements overlaying the radial-lined background of the coins.
All 2018 1 oz Silver Canadian Wolf Predator Series Coins are available to you as individual purchases in protective packaging. For multiples of the coin, you can receive them in plastic mint tubes of 25 coins or Monster Boxes with 500 coins in total.
The obverse of the 2018 1 oz Silver Canadian Wolf Predator Series Coin you’ll find Queen Elizabeth II. The effigy of Her Majesty featured here on the obverse is the fourth-generation design used since 2003 and created by Susanna Blunt. This is the first portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, and first since her father George VI’s, to feature the monarch without a crown.
On the reverse of the Silver Canadian Wolf Predator Series Coins is the new image of a wolf on the prowl. The design brings all the intricate details of the wolf to life as it hunts down its prey. The coins feature the radial lines and maple leaf privy mark for security that the Royal Canadian Mint features on all of its coins as of 2015.
