Following the sky-high demand for silver bullion coins in the American Eagle Series during the late 2000s and early 2010s, the US Mint has seen sinking demand for one of its primary sellers. The Silver American Eagle coin has sunk drastically since its 2015 record high of 47 million coins. Demand fell modestly in 2016, but sunk even further in 2017 and 2018. The demand for Silver American Eagle coins has tumbled downward since the record-setting 2015 Silver Eagle was released. The 2016 coin dropped by nearly 10 million coins to 37.7 but retained a level of demand thanks to the fact that it was the 30th-anniversary date mark for the bullion coins. The 2017 coins fell drastically by nearly 20 million coins to settle at 18,065,500. The 2018 1 oz Silver American Eagle bullion coin had a mintage of 15,700,000 coins, the lowest mark in more than a decade since the 2007 coin hit just 9 million for mintage.
All of these 2018 1 oz Silver American Eagle Coins are available to you in near-perfect condition. Mint State 69 coins are characterized by the presence of full, original mint luster with a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. Those flaws cannot be greater than minuscule contact marks or hairlines and must only be located outside the primary focal points of the coin.
On the obverse side of 2018 1 oz Silver American Eagle Coins, you’ll find Adolph A. Weinman’s creation known as Walking Liberty. This left-profile relief of Liberty depicts her figure walking toward the sun on the horizon and reflects the nation’s drive toward a brighter future.
The reverse face of 2018 Silver Eagles includes the heraldic eagle of the United States. This iconic, historic design was first created in 1794 by Robert Scot. Today’s modern version of the seal was created by John Mercanti in 1986 for the Silver Eagles.
