The Silver Mexican Libertad coin is unlike many of its competitors in the annual-release silver bullion market. Like the Silver Eagle, Silver Maple Leaf, or Silver Panda, the Silver Libertad coins are made available by the Mexican Mint each year for investors. That’s about where the story ends for this coin compared to its compatriots. The 2018 1 oz Silver Mexican Libertad Coin is currently available to you for purchase at Silver.com in perfect condition!

Silver Mexican Libertad coins have much lower mintage figures than competing coins in the market, making them one of the few annual-issue bullion coins with such lower mintage figures and the added value of rarity. For example, in 2015 there were just 903,000 Silver Libertad coins sold, compared to some 47 million Silver American Eagle coins in the same year.
Another unique facet of the 2018 Silver Mexican Libertad coin is its lack of a set face value. While other silver bullion coins are issued nominal face values engraved on the coin, the Silver Libertad has no such marking. Instead, Banco de Mexico issues a floating face value based upon silver’s value. Were individuals ever to exchange the coins in commerce, Banco de Mexico would have to first inform them of its value on that day.
On the obverse of the 2018 1 oz Silver Mexican Libertad coin is the image of Winged Victory. Captured in left-profile relief, this depiction of Winged Victory is included with the twin volcanic peaks of Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl in the background field, along with engravings of the coin’s weight, purity, and metal content.
The reverse of 2018 Silver Libertads features the modern coat of arms for Mexico, which is surrounded immediately by a wreath and “Estados Unidos Mexicanos.” Around the outer design field, you’ll find a collection of 10 historic versions of the nation’s coat of arms.
All 2018 1 oz Silver Mexican Libertad coins here are in perfect Mint State 70 condition. The NGC issues this grade to coins with full, original mint luster and no detracting flaws. Early Release coins are those which arrived at the NGC within the first 30 days of the 2018 release date set by the Mexican Mint.
