Gold Chinese Panda coins debuted from the Chinese Mint in 1982 with 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz coins available. One year later, the Chinese Mint added to a 1/20 oz coin to round out the series. In 2001, the People’s Republic of China revalued all the gold coins for sale in the series and adjusted the face values upward. In 2016, the nation moved the coins away from Troy ounce weights to Grams as the official marking of weight.
