The area is a favorite destination for kayakers, canoers, and other outdoor enthusiasts. The views from the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore are breathtaking when viewed from the water.

The reverse side of 2018-P 5 oz Burnished Silver ATB Apostle Islands National Lakeshore features the image of Devils Island as a kayaker views it from the waters of Lake Superior. Also visible in this design is the historic Devils Island Lighthouse, one of many historic structures of this time in the park.

On the obverse face of the 2018 Burnished Silver ATB Coins is the image of President George Washington. This left-profile portrait was created in 1932 by John Flanagan and placed on the circulation US quarter as part of the 200th anniversary of Washington’s birth. The “P” mint mark of the Philadelphia Mint is visible on this side below the national motto “In God We Trust.”
