The obverse and reverse faces of the Proof Gold American Liberty coins bear new designs created and sculpted by four different US Mint artists and engravers. The designs on each side were created by members of the US Mint Artistic Infusion Program. Justin Kunz created the new Liberty depiction, with Chris T. Costello developing the image of the eagle on the reverse.

As for the sculpting of these designs, US Mint Sculptor-Engravers took over bringing the designs to life. Phebe Hemphill handled the work on the obverse image of Liberty, with Michael Gaudioso working on the eagle for the reverse.

On the obverse face of the 2018-W 1/10 oz Proof Gold American Liberty Coin is the new design of Liberty. Created by Kunz and sculpted by Hemphill, this image captured Liberty as an African-American woman wearing a crown of large stars with “Liberty” above her head, “2018,” to the right side, and the national motto “In God We Trust” along the bottom.

The reverse of the 1/10 oz Proof Gold Liberty Coin features an American bald eagle in flight. The eagle’s gaze is fixed on the horizon as it glides across the coin’s surface. The engravings of “United States of America” and “E Pluribus Unum” feature above, while the weight, purity, and metal content feature below the eagle along with “10 Dollars.”

2018 Proof Gold American Liberty Coins in this offering earned perfect certifications from the NGC. Coins with a PF70 grade from the NGC have full, original mint luster and lack any detracting flaws. The Early Release label is reserved for coins received for certification by the NGC within 30 days of the 2018 release date set by the US Mint.
