All of the 2019 1/20 oz Proof Gold Mexican Libertads in this listing are available to purchase with protective plastic capsules. These proof specimens are not available with presentation cases or a Certificate of Authenticity. Each one has frosted design elements that contrast the mirrored background fields.
On the obverse of 2019 1/20 oz Proof Gold Mexican Libertads, you will find the image of Winged Victory as the primary design element. The depiction of Victory featured here is the same as the one that stands as a statue on top of the Mexican Independence Victory Column in Mexico City. The column was erected in 1921 to mark 100 years of independence.
In the background field on the obverse, you will notice two volcanic peaks. These mountains are known as Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl and were named for a pair of Aztec lovers whose story is similar to that of Romeo and Juliet.
The reverse of 2019 1/20 oz Proof Gold Libertads features the Mexican coat of arms. This is the modern version of the seal and depicts a Mexican golden eagle battling a serpent on the arm of a cactus. “Estados Unidos Mexicanos” is depicted above and a wreath below to help frame the official seal.
