The Silver Australian Kookaburra coin is available from the Perth Mint on an annual basis with various, changing weights available. While the 1 oz coin is standard, other weights have come and gone over the years. One of the most common additional weights is the 1 kilogram coin. The 2019 1 Kilogram Silver Australian Kookaburra Coin is currently available to you for purchase online at Silver.com.

Coin Highlights:

  • Coins ship to you inside of protective plastic capsules!
  • 30th issue year for the Silver Australian Kookaburra!
  • Unlimited mintage available through a 12-month period!
  • Consists of One Kilogram, or 32.15 Troy ounces, of .9999 fine silver in BU condition.
  • Issued a face value of $30 (AUD) by Australia.
  • Obverse includes a new right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
  • Reverse includes a depiction of a kookaburra on a sunken tree branch.

The 1990 and 1991 issues of the Silver Australian Kookaburra coins featured only a 1 Troy oz silver coin for investors. Starting in 1992, the 1 kilogram and 10 oz coins were issued for the collection. To this date, the 1 kilogram and 10 oz coins remain annual options, with a 2 oz bullion coin formerly available from 1992 to 2009.

From 1990 to 2017, the Silver Australian Kookaburra coins featured .999 fine silver content. Starting in 2018, the Perth Mint increased the silver content of the coins to .9999 fine silver. Now, in 2019 the Silver Australian Kookaburra Coin features the first new effigy of Queen Elizabeth II on Australian coinage since 1998.

On the obverse of 2019 1 Kilo Silver Australian Kookaburra Coins, you’ll find the new sixth-generation effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty has previously featured in five different portraits during her reign, with the latest design running from 1998 to 2018. This right-profile portrait of Her Majesty comes from Jody Clark’s Royal Mint design debuting in 2016, with this particular design featuring her neckline and shoulders for the first time on an Australian coin since 1966.

The reverse of 2019 Silver Australian Kookaburra Coins features a new design for the year. A kookaburra is depicted sitting on the perch of a broken tree branch sunk into a lake. The sun sets over the horizon at the edge of the lake as the sun’s rays reflect off the surface of the water and across its rippling surface.

The Perth Mint issues the 1 kilo coin with an unlimited mintage figure for 2019. The coins will be struck for no more than 12 months to meet any demand for the coins.

We also never have access to your credit/debit card details, as they are securely communicated directly to the payment processor (Authorize.net) and never retained by Silver.com. For this reason, we also don't process credit/debit card orders over the phone, as it is the least secure way to process those transactions.

Do you charge sales tax?

We are required to collect sales tax in certain states. You can review your states sales tax policy here: https://www.silver.com/taxes. You should always consult with a tax adviser for specific advice in your area.

Where does your spot price come from?

We use a live, up-to-the-second spot price feed supplied by Xignite.com, a worldwide leader in the data supply market.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
