The 1 oz Gold American Eagle coin is the primary option for many gold buyers in the American Eagle gold bullion series. The coins in this collection are available in three fractional weights as well, but aside from a four-year stretch in the early 2000s, the 1 oz coin has outsold all other options in each year. The 2019 1 oz Gold American Eagle Coin is currently available to you for online purchase at Silver.com in perfect condition.

Gold American Eagle coins broke the mold of nearly 150 years of American gold coinage when introduced in 1986. The US Mint had not issued a gold coin since 1933 when President Franklin D. Roosevelt ended the gold standard and ordered the collection of all gold circulating coins to melt them into gold bullion bars to support Treasury stockpiles of gold.

More importantly, the Gold American Eagle was the purest US gold coin issued since 1837. Up until 1834, all American gold coins were issued with crown gold alloys, meaning a purity of 22-karat (.9167 gold content). Starting in 1834 and concluding in 1837, the US Mint moved to lower gold content in all coins to .900. The release of the 22-karat Gold American Eagles in 1986 was the purest gold coin issued in the US in nearly 150 years.

On the obverse of 2019 1 oz Gold American Eagles is the design of Lady Liberty created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. This design depicted Liberty in a new manner with her figure facing forward and on the move out of Washington DC. It appeared on the $20 Gold Double Eagle until 1933.

The reverse of 2019 Gold Eagles includes a family of bald eagles. Created exclusively for this series by Miley Busiek, the design depicts a male eagle in flight above the family nest as a female eagle shelters a young hatchling within.

These 2019 1 oz Gold American Eagle Coins are available to purchase today with a perfect Mint State 70 certification from the NGC and a protective plastic slab to house the coin. Mint State 70 coins showcase full, original mint luster with no detracting flaws. Early Release coins are those which arrive within 30 days of the US Mint release date for 2019 Gold American Eagles.
