Lady Margaret Beaufort is remembered as one of the most influential women of the 15th and early 16th centuries in England. She was a prominent figure during the Wars of the Roses between the House of Lancaster and the House of York.

Married four times, it was her second marriage to Edmund Tudor that resulted in her gaining prominence in the long run. Their son, Henry, would later defeat the Yorkist King Richard III in 1485 to end the House of Plantagenet rule and usher in the Tudor Dynasty. In addition to being the new King Henry VII’s mother, Lady Margaret is credited with the establishment of Christ’s College and St. John’s College.

On the reverse of 2019 1 oz Gold British Queen’s Beast Yale of Beaufort Coins is the image of the Yale of Beaufort. The symbol of Lady Margaret, the original shield is quartered with white and blue, and featured a golden portcullis. There is no portcullis in this design, but her Yale features as the supporting animal of the shield.

The obverse of 2019 Gold British Yale of Beaufort Coins includes the portrait of the modern ruler of England’s monarchy, Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is featured in right-profile relief in this fifth-generation design created in 2015 by Jody Clark.

These 2019 1 oz Gold British Queen’s Beast Yale of Beaufort Coins earned Mint State 69 certifications from the NGC. Considered near-perfect coins, these specimens showcase full, original mint luster with a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. Examples of acceptable flaws at this level include minuscule contact marks and hairlines.

Included within the slab of each coin is an Early Release label. The ER label is reserved for coins received by the NGC for grading within 30 days of their original release date.
