The Britannia Series from the Royal Mint of England is one of the best-selling coins in the world. Like many other major bullion programs, you’ll find the coveted design of Britannia from Philip Nathan on the reverse of gold, silver, and platinum coins in this series. Today, 2019 1 oz Platinum British Britannia Coins are available to you online at Silver.com.

Coin Highlights:

  • Individual coins ship in plastic flips, multiples of 5 – 10 ship in tubes.
  • Second year of availability for the Platinum Britannia!
  • Consists of One Troy ounce of .9995 fine platinum.
  • The face value of 100 (GBP) is fully backed by Great Britain’s government.
  • Queen Elizabeth II features on the coin’s obverse.
  • Britannia is depicted on the coin’s reverse.

The Britannia design used in this popular series was created in 1987 by Philip Nathan, but is based upon the various historical versions of her image. Britannia first appeared on coinage in the British Isles after the Roman Empire conquered the region 2,000 years ago and Emperor Hadrian began to issue coins with Britannia’s likeness.

All 2019 1 oz Platinum British Britannia Coins are available to you today as Brilliant Uncirculated specimens. Coins in this listing are available for individual purchase inside of protective capsules, in multiples of 10 housed in mint tubes, or in multiples of 100 housed inside of Monster Boxes that contain 10 tubes in total.

The reverse of the 2019 Platinum British Britannia features an image of Britannia created by Philip Nathan in 1987. Nathan won an artistic competition hosted by the Royal Mint to find a design for its new Britannia coinage. The vision of Britannia he created keeps with the traditional depiction of Britannia as a symbol of strength, integrity, and unity.

Britannia regularly features on bullion coinage from Britain as of 1987, but her history on British coinage is much older. After the Roman Empire left Great Britain, Britannia disappeared from regular use on coinage in the region. In 1672, King Charles II of England introduced Britannia to coinage and every monarch since then has issued coinage with her image.

The obverse of 2019 1 oz Platinum British Britannia Coins includes the vision of Queen Elizabeth II. This right-profile portrait of Her Majesty depicts the monarch at 89 years old and was created in July 2015 by Jody Clark for the Royal Mint of England.

Are your products actually in stock?

Yes. We are one of the few bullion dealers in the industry who only deems products "in stock" when we have them on-hand and ready to ship immediately. In the instance of a presale item, we denote that the product is on presale and the estimated shipping date. While we make the best efforts to hit presale dates, the dates are only estimates, given we cannot control mint production issues and/or carrier dealyes.

Why are multiple prices listed?

We offer a 4% discount to "cash" paying customers - with paper check, bank wire, and bitcoin payments being defined as cash. On many products, we are also able to offer volume discounts to customers purchasing large quantities of the same item. All volume pricing is laid out in the chart on the product's description page, as well as in the cart.

When do I lock in my price?

All prices are locked in at the time of purchase. Credit/debit card, PayPal, BitCoin, Ethereum, and Ripple orders are paid at the time of checkout, while paper check and bank wire orders require a credit/debit card on file to lock in your pricing while we await your payment. Please note, paper check and bank wire orders will NOT result in a charge to your card - we simple maintain the card on file while we await full payment by your selected payment method.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently only ship to addresses in the United States, including APOs.
