On the obverse of the 2019 Silver Australian Kookaburra coin is the image of Queen Elizabeth II. This isn’t the typical effigy in use for 20 years now, but rather a new sixth-generation design from Jody Clark. Mr. Clark’s fifth-generation design for the Royal Mint is the foundation of this design, which is the first since 1966 to feature the Queen’s neckline and shoulders in the design field.
The reverse of the 2019 1 oz Silver Australian Kookaburra Coin features the distinct kookaburra coin design. The largest member of the kingfisher species is depicted sitting on the branch of a sunken tree in a small lake. As the sun sets across the lake, the rays of the sun reflect on the rippling waves of the water.
