The United States Mint offered five unique coins in the Apollo 11 50th Anniversary series. Each coin shared the same obverse and reverse design elements, but offered something different to investors and collectors in terms of size and affordability. The silver range included two different $1 (USD) coins in the form of a bullion and proof option. There was also a massive 5 oz silver proof coin produced.

In the gold range, the US Mint offered a $1 gold bullion coin and a $1 proof gold coin. All five coins had concave and convex, domed surfaces to enhance the visual impact of the designs. The reverse of each coin was convex, while the obverse was concave.

The obverse of the 2019 $1 Proof Silver American Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Coin includes the concave field with an astronaut footprint struck into the surface of the moon. On the reverse side of the Proof Silver American Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Coin is the convex field with Buzz Aldrin’s helmet framing the coin design field and his visor serving as the point of reflection for a photograph he took of Neil Armstrong on the moon. That image is brilliantly recreated on this domed surface.

These 2019 $1 Proof Silver American Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Coins are available to you in perfect condition from the PCGS. A PR70 coin showcases full, original mint luster and has no detracting flaws of any kind on the design elements or surface areas. Designated First Day of Issue coins, these items were received by the PCGS for grading inside of a sealed box from the US Mint within the first 24 hours of the original release date.
