Each year that the United States Mint issues the Silver American Eagle, it does so with three versions for investors and collectors. The bullion coin is the top-seller, but there are also proof and burnished versions of the coin available as well. In 2019, a special enhanced reverse proof specimen was also struck with a low mintage cap. Today, 2019 1 oz Enhanced Reverse Proof Silver American Eagles are available to you online at Silver.com.

The United States Mint classifies these coins as “enhanced reverse proof” specimens. Typically, a reverse proof coin inverts the visuals of a regular proof to use frosted background fields with mirrored elements. In the case of these enhanced reverse proofs, the US Mint showcases a frosted background field combined with multiple polished and frosted finishes to isolated elements of the design to create a unique visual appeal.

All of the 2019 1 oz Enhanced Reverse Proof Silver American Eagles in this product listing come with a presentation case from the United States Mint. The blue outer case boasts a blue velvet interior that is satin-lined. A numbered Certificate of Authenticity is available, but the number included on the COA is not a specific serial number. Instead, it merely represents the coin being one of the 30,000 in the limited issue.

Walking Liberty appears on the obverse of the 2019 Enhanced Reverse Proof Silver American Eagles. Adolph A. Weinman created this design in 1916 for the US Mint as it sought to replace the Barber Coinage designs on the nation’s dime, quarter, and half dollar. Liberty walks in left-profile relief toward the sun on the horizon with an American flag over her shoulders and branches of oak and laurel in her left arm.

The reverse of 2019 Enhanced Reverse Proof Silver Eagle bears the heraldic eagle of the United States. This iconic design has been in use since the US Mint started in 1792 and has been modernized multiple times. This latest version was modernized by John Mercanti in 1986 for its debut on the Silver American Eagle. This side of the coin includes an “S” mint mark from the San Francisco Mint.
