The Gold Eagles from the United States Mint were introduced in 1986 and expanded in 2006. The series launched with 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz gold coins in a bullion version and a 1 oz proof gold coin in the collectible version that first year. The 1/2 oz proof gold coin was released in 1987 followed by the 1/4 oz and 1/10 oz proof gold coins in 1988. The burnished version of the coin is available only in 1 oz gold and debuted in 2006.

1/10 oz Gold American Eagles have proven immensely popular among investors as a more affordable option compared to the 1 oz version of the same coin. In 1999, the last major spike in demand, the 1/10 oz Gold Eagle set a series record with a mintage of 2.75 million coins that year alone. In 15 of the 35 issues of the bullion Gold Eagles, the 1/10 oz gold coin has been the top seller among the four weights. This includes a string of six straight issues from 2014 to 2019.

On the obverse of 2020 1/10 oz Gold American Eagle coins is the design of Liberty from Augustus Saint-Gaudens. This front-facing relief of Liberty was created in 1907 and used on the $20 Gold Double Eagle until 1933.

The reverse side of 2020 1/10 oz Gold Eagles comes with an exclusive design not used on any other American coins. Designed by Miley Busiek in 1986, this image includes three eagles around the family nest.

These 2020 1/10 oz Gold American Eagle coins earned Mint State 70 certifications from the NGC. Considered perfect coins, each one showcases full original mint luster and no detracting flaws of any kind present on the surface areas. The Early Release label indicates the coins were received within the first 30 days of the US Mint’s release of 2020 Gold Eagles.
