The designs in the Chiwoo Cheonwang Series change on the reverse side with each release. The first four images featured in the collection followed a common design concept. The images of Chiwoo followed the God of War as he prepared for and eventually led his forces into battle. The final design of this run in 2019 showed Chiwoo basking in the glory of victory, but 2020 shows that another battle is looming on the horizon.

The sealed assay card includes a capsule pack within the houses the individual gold medal and a blue assay card surrounding the capsule. The blue assay card has a hologram on its face that reflects Do ggae bi. The other side of the assay card has the authentication details for the weight, purity, metal content, and serial number of the gold medal. Of the 1,000 gold medals issued in this release, only 250 gold medals are packaged with this blue assay card.
On the obverse side of 2020 1/10 oz Gold South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Medals is a depiction of Do ggae bi. The hobgoblin figure is depicted on the shield of Chiwoo Cheonwang, but is featured in a new design this year. The face of the creature has more robust features, such as the nostrils, eyebrows, and teeth. Also, the figure is now smiling in the design. This is the first time the design of Do ggae bi has changed on the reverse of the medals in this series.
The reverse face of 2020 Gold South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Medals comes with the image of Chiwoo. The fearsome warrior is shown with his armor on and shield at the ready in his left hand as he stands with his back to the viewer. His gaze is fixed on the threat of the Hell Gate that has emerged from beneath the Earth within his empire.
