Each 2020 1/2 oz Gold American Eagle available here at Silver.com bears a near-perfect certification. The Mint State 69 grade means that each coin exhibits full, original mint luster with a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. Those flaws are limited to minuscule contact marks and hairlines that must be located outside of the primary focal points of the coin.
Included with your purchase of these 2020 1/2 oz Gold Eagles is an Early Release label. This label means that the coins were received by the NGC or an approved third-party depository within the first 30 days of release by the United States Mint.
On the obverse of 2020 Gold American Eagles is a design of Liberty that is more than a century old. Though modernized for this release to include 50 stars around her figure, this front-facing portrait of Liberty with a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other was originally created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens in 1907.
The reverse side of the 2020 1/2 oz Gold American Eagles includes a family of American bald eagles. This is an exclusive design found only on the Gold Eagle coins and was created by Miley Busiek in 1986. It depicts a male eagle in flight above the nest with a female and hatchling in the nest itself.
2020 Gold American Eagles are produced by the United States Mint. Although you will find no mint marks on these bullion coins, the US Mint strikes Gold American Eagles at the West Point Mint each year.
