The NGC and PCGS both certify thousands of American bullion coins each year. This includes the American Gold Eagle and its four weights, including the three fractional-ounce coins. Coins are issued a grade between 1 and 70 in the certification process and packaged inside of sealed plastic slabs after the grading process. Today, 2020 1/2 oz Gold American Eagles are available to you online at Silver.com in perfect condition.

Gold American Eagle coins are available in 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz weights each year. Among these, the 1/2 oz gold coin is the largest of the fractional-ounce options and the lowest minted coin in the series overall. The highest mintage this weight has ever seen was 1986 when the coin debuted with 599,566 coins. Only the 1999 release has come close to that, but was still just half that figure.

All of the 2020 1/2 oz Gold American Eagles in this listing earned Mint State 70 certifications. A coin with this grade has full, original mint luster with no detracting flaws present on the design elements or surface areas of the coin. Also available in the slab is an Early Release label indicating the coins were received within the opening 30-day window following the US Mint’s release of 2020 Gold Eagles.

The obverse face of 2020 1/2 oz Gold Eagles is a depiction of Lady Liberty created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. This design was used on the $20 Gold Double Eagle from 1907 to 1933, but by the time it reached the Gold Double Eagle in 1907, Saint-Gaudens had died from an illness and never saw his design come to life on US coinage.

On the reverse side of 2020 Gold American Eagles is a family of American bald eagles. Designed by Miley Busiek exclusively for the Gold Eagles, this depiction features a male bald eagle in flight above the family nest, a young hatchling within the nest, and a female eagle guarding that hatchling.
