The figure of Germania became associated with the German nation during the Revolutions of 1848. The result of this wave of political unrest and upheaval was felt most acutely in the states of the German Confederation. After the period of unrest ended, the German Empire arose from the ashes of the former confederation with Germania often depicted as the female personification of the new empire and its people.

All of the 2020 1 oz Colorized Silver Germania Camouflage Rounds in this listing have the Barbarossa camouflage. Each one of the rounds is individually packaged in a clear, acrylic display stand with a themed shipping sleeve and a Certificate of Authenticity. The full colorization added to both fields delivers a red camouflage pattern.

On the obverse side of 2020 Colorized Silver Germania Camouflage Rounds is a depiction of the female allegory Germania. The camouflage pattern is named for Frederick Barbarossa, also known as Frederick I, Holy Roman Emperor. The red camouflage scheme was chosen because Barbarossa had a thick, red beard in real life. When he attempted to conquer northern Italian cities during his reign, the people gave him the name Barbarossa, which means “red beards” in Italian.

The reverse field of 2020 1 oz Colorized Germania Camouflage Rounds features the double-headed eagle seal of the Germania Mint. The seal comes with two heads on a single eagle, one looking to the past and the other toward the future.
