The new Lunar Series III collection from the Perth Mint includes a variety of new options for investors and collectors. As usual, the series delivers new designs for the Year of the Mouse in its introduction, which includes separate designs for the silver and gold coins. The introduction of these new 1 oz platinum coins to the series is also new and features the same designs from the gold 2020 Year of the Mouse release.
All 2020 1 oz Platinum Australian Lunar Mouse Coins are available to you with individual protective acrylic capsules. The coins in this listing are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The platinum coins and several weights in silver and gold also feature a new authentication feature for Lunar Series III. This feature is a micro-laser engraved letter found within the design field of the reverse. It is only visible under magnification.
The obverse of 2020 Platinum Australian Lunar Mouse Coins includes the image of Queen Elizabeth II. This is Her Majesty’s sixth-generation effigy on Australian coins and the first since 1966 to include her neckline and shoulders in the portrait. It depicts her in right-profile relief wearing the Royal Diadem crown and Victorian coronation necklace.
On the reverse of 2020 1 oz Platinum Australian Lunar Mouse Coins is a depiction of a mouse as it climbs up a wheat stalk. The mouse is featured along with the “P” mint mark, the Chinese symbol for mouse, and the phrase “Mouse 2020.” Ing Ing Jong again designs distinct features for the silver and gold coins in the Lunar Series III collection. She previously worked on the designs of the Lunar Series II collection from 2013 to 2019.
