The silver for sale in the Krugerrand series may be relatively new, but it is no less popular among investors and collectors. The popularity of the coins in that year led the mint to continue producing silver coins to this date. Today, 2020 1 oz Proof Silver South African Krugerrands are available to you online at Silver.com.

The South African Mint achieved a number of firsts in the Krugerrand series in 2017. In honor of the Gold Krugerrand, two versions of a Silver Krugerrand were struck for the first time ever and a Platinum Krugerrand was also issued in that year. The silver coin was so popular with investors and collectors, as it featured a Premium Uncirculated and proof option that year, that the mint continues to issue the coins in the years that have followed.

All of the 2020 1 oz Proof Silver South African Krugerrands in this product listing come with a protective capsule around the coin and a South African Mint black presentation box to hold the coin and capsule. the coins also come with a Certificate of Authenticity and present with frosted elements over mirrored background fields.

On the obverse field of 2020 Proof Silver South African Krugerrands features the image of Paul Kruger. This left-profile portrait of Kruger captures him as he looked during the height of his power and influence. Based on an 1892 portrait, the image shows Kruger with his trademark long beard. In 1892, he was in the midst of his long term as President of the South African Republic, a role he held from 1883 to 1900.

The reverse side of 2020 1 oz Proof Silver South African Krugerrands comes with a depiction of the elegant Springbok antelope. The national symbol of South Africa, this design has graced the reverse of the coins in this series since the 1967 introduction of the Gold Krugerrand.
